The
10th Annual Heroes of Denton County Awards & Recognitions Gala
is being held Thursday, September 29th, 2011 at 7:00PM at The Ballroom of the Speedway Club overlooking Texas Motor Speedway.
This year, our keynote speaker will be New York City Fire Department Deputy Chief
Jay Jonas; one
of only 20 to survive the collapse of the twin towers of the World Trade
Center on September 11, 2001.
Through the generous support of our table sponsors, The Heroes of
Denton County invites active Denton County First Responders to attend the banquet with one adult guest at no cost.
PLEASE NOTE THAT: Due to overwhelming interest, and attendance, we have been
over capacity at the event venue over the past several years. As such, this year
we are,
once again, mandated to impose a limit on the number of complimentary reservations that will be
accommodated.
In an effort to streamline the
event "check-in" process, we
NO LONGER provide physical tickets.
ALL ATTENDEES will be ‘checked-in’ from compiled departmental sign-in
sheets. Your accommodation of this process change is required, and gratefully
acknowledged
Once completed, this form will
REQUIRE the signature of the Department Chief
and MUST BE FAXXED to
(972) 219-3683
NO LATER THAN Friday, August 26, 2011.

Denton
County Fire Chiefs' Funeral Committee |
|
|
|
The Denton County Fire Chiefs Funeral Committee (DCFCFC) is available at all times to answer questions or assist in firefighter funeral matters. This committee has been formed to assist the Fire Chief and members of Denton County Fire departments who have experienced a line-of-duty death. We offer our assistance, understanding and support. Our goal is to help shoulder the burden.
This assistance can include, but is not limited to, providing materials and personnel to properly decorate the facilities and procession units. We have compiled a data base of resources that will be available to all who ask regardless of affiliation with Denton County; however, our ability to commit resources at this time is limited to Denton County. The Denton County Fire Chiefs are available to assist with the documentation and reporting requirements, securing fill-ins and an honor guard. Additionally, the Denton County Fire Chiefs are available to provide guidance on how to organize a command staff to accomplish all of the critical tasks associated with planning and conducting a funeral for a fallen firefighter. There are no fees for this assistance and or suggested fire service funeral guidelines. The Denton County Fire Chiefs Funeral Committee may be contacted through the Office of the Denton County Fire Marshal.
