In addition to providing survivor benefits, The Heroes of Denton County works to foster community support and recognition for each of the Law Enforcement Officers, Firefighters and Telecommunicators that Denton County is so fortunate to have.

Because we must prepare for a brighter future as well, The Heroes of Denton County sponsors an annual, and ongoing, Scholarship Program for High School Juniors and Seniors within Denton County who are closely related to a current, or a retired, Denton County Public Safety Officer.  It is one of our most positive endeavors.

This $1,500 Scholarship will be awarded from the best submission based on the the theme, “The Hero, or Heroes, of My Life.” The theme may be expressed through any of the following, although not limited to: original essay, poetry, prose, song or visual art form. Performance of original song, dance or reading may be presented through videotape.
